Ashgabat discusses agreement on cooperation in scientific research in the Caspian Sea

The discussion of the draft “Agreement between the governments of the Caspian littoral states on cooperation in the field of scientific research in the Caspian Sea” is dedicated to the second meeting of experts from the Caspian littoral countries, which started on February 6 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The meeting is attended by representatives of the ministries of foreign affairs, education of Turkmenistan, the Institute of the Caspian Sea, as well as representatives of relevant ministries and departments of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation.

This project, aimed at strengthening and developing the legal framework for cooperation in the field of scientific work in the Caspian Sea, including monitoring and analysis of natural and anthropogenic factors, occupies an important place in the development of research cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Caspian countries.

On the first day of the meeting, the parties approved the agenda and continued consideration of the draft Agreement by points. The meeting of experts will continue until February 7, inclusively, the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reports.
