Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in a telephone conversation held on the eve of the New year, noted the solid potential for further building up the multifaceted Turkmen-Uzbek partnership.
The heads of the two friendly States exchanged congratulations on the upcoming new year, 2020, wishing health, happiness, great achievements in all endeavors and in joint work for the benefit of the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples.
The presidents exchanged views on the further development of bilateral relations, taking into account the implementation of the agreements reached earlier.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted the solid potential for further expansion of multi-faceted partnership, including in the fuel and energy sector, the industrial sector, transport and communications, agriculture and a number of other areas, in the implementation of new large-scale joint projects that meet the goals of economic prosperity of both countries and the region as a whole.
During the conversation, the sides stressed their commitment to coordinated interaction and mutual support, both in the bilateral format and within the framework of the UN, CIS and other international organizations. In this regard, Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted the high level of events held by Turkmenistan as the country presiding over the CIS in 2019.
- Uzbekistan, which is taking the baton of the CIS presidency in 2020, highly appreciates the efforts of the Turkmen leader to activate the political, legal, trade, economic and humanitarian integration of the Commonwealth countries, and to increase the role of this organization in global processes, the head of the friendly state said.
Stressing that neutral Turkmenistan always stands for a constructive dialogue with all countries of the world community, both in bilateral and multilateral format, the President of Uzbekistan noted the importance of the Declaration on strategic economic partnership of the CIS countries adopted at the summit of the CIS heads of state.
