The construction of a gas compressor station starts in Central Karakum

Singapore company "GP Global Equipment Pte Ltd" will construct in Turkmenistan gas compressor station with a capacity of 2 billion cubic meters per year on gas object "Zäkli-Derweze" complex gas condensate fields in the Central Karakum desert. Construction starts in September this year and will be completed in February 2022.

Before the construction of the facility, it is planned to conduct a comprehensive study of gas fields located approximately 250 kilometers from Ashgabat. The site, which will house a gas compressor facility, located in the Central Karakum on-site gas treatment facilities "Zäkli-Derweze".

On the territory where the construction work will be carried out, the air temperature in winter reaches -30, and in summer +47 degrees. The depth of the top layer of sand of porous dunes here is about 10 meters. Despite the difficult climatic conditions, the company's employees are fully prepared for construction work.

The construction of the gas compressor station will reveal the great potential of the complex of gas condensate fields "Merkezi Garagum" in the Central Karakum and will increase the capacity of natural gas through the existing gas pipelines in Dashoguz region.

The project will involve modern equipment and advanced technology. The contract provides for the preparation and installation of equipment, engineering, construction, installation and commissioning, as well as training of specialists of SC “Turkmengas”.

The construction of this facility will be attended mainly by domestic specialists, which will help to improve their skills.

In the future, the Singapore company provides for further development of cooperation with the state concerns "Turkmengas" and "Turkmennebit".

Recall, the relevant contract with the Singapore company for the construction of this gas compressor station, the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the state concern "Turkmengas" to sign on the eve of the state visit to Singapore, which took place on August 26-27 this year.
