Iran conducts negotiations with the Russian, Norwegian and Chinese companies on investigation and development of oil fields in the Caspian Sea. It was said by the director of the company of "Khazar Exploration and Production Co" (KEPCO) on the international affairs Ramin Hodafarin.
According to him, for the last weeks meetings with representatives of leading companies in the field of drilling and investigation of oil and gas from Russia, Norway and China were held. During these meetings the possibility of a cooperation on development of oil fields in the Caspian Sea was discussed, IIA "Kazinform" with reference to IRNA reports.
In recent years the ministry of oil of Iran paid the main attention to development of oil fields in the Persian Gulf, but considering elimination of sanctions and assistance to participation of the foreign companies, the ministry delivered on the agenda development of oil fields in the Caspian Sea for development of necessary financial resources and technologies for drilling deeply in the sea.
Hodafarin also reported about formation of investment committee in KEPCO having said that the committee shall purchase the equity and technologies for accomplishment of plans for development of fields in the Caspian Sea.
Earlier managing director of the Iranian "Khazar" Oil Company Mohsen Delaviz did not exclude a possibility of signing the agreement with the Russian oil company "Lukoil" on studying of oil fields of the Caspian Sea in the nearest future.
According to him, according to the agreement, the parties will cooperate in the field of studying of oil fields in the southern part the Caspian Sea.
Now oil inventories at a depth of 2500 m in the field Sardar Dzhangal in the southern part of the Caspian Sea are found.
