On the Turkmen-Afghan border the terminal of oil products Imamnazar is put into operation

Today the President of Turkmenistan has opened the new terminal Imamnazar on acceptance, storage and shipment of oil products at the Turkmen-Afghan border. Commissioning of the terminal has taken place by means of a teleconference with the place of celebrations on the occasion of input railroad system Atamyrat-Imamnazar (Turkmenistan) – Akina (Afghanistan) which has become the first stage of the Asian international railway corridor.

The terminal capacity of 540 thousand tons per year was built by the State Concern "Türkmennebitgazgurluşyk" by request of Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries according to the resolution of the President of Turkmenistan signed in February, 2013.

4 main sections enter the terminal: office and auxiliary buildings, section on acceptance of oil products, the section on storage of oil products including metal tanks, section on pumping oil products in road tankers in the border territory.

Directly the rail road spur of the new steel highway Atamyrat-Imamnazar (Turkmenistan) - Akina (Afghanistan) has been brought to the terminal.
