Today, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with representatives of the scientific community at the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, during which he outlined measures designed to increase the effectiveness of scientific research in the country.
The head of state congratulated scientists, professors, teachers and the entire scientific community of the country on the Day of Science, which is celebrated in the country on June 12.
“Currently, in order to develop science, the issue of increasing the efficiency of scientific research in all sectors of the economy, expanding the limits of using the capabilities of research institutions, academics of higher schools becomes the most topical,” - Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
In this context, the head of state set tasks related to improving the efficiency of scientific research.
During the meeting, the President signed a decree on financial support for the development of domestic science. The document provides for the allocation of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan 35 million manat to further strengthen its material and technical base and subordinated scientific institutions, broad state support in the training of highly qualified scientific workers.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also signed a decree "On the establishment of the Development Fund of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan", as well as a number of documents aimed at "enhancing the role of science in economic development through the use of advanced technologies, innovations and scientific achievements."
The meeting also decided to create an interdisciplinary commission to ensure the effectiveness of scientific research in Turkmenistan.
The meeting, dedicated to the Day of Science, was attended by members of the government, deputies of the Mejlis, heads of relevant departments.
