Iodine production – at the oilfield

It is planned to establish iodine production from industrial waters used in the extraction of hydrocarbon raw materials at one of the oil fields operating in the west of Turkmenistan.

For this purpose, a company “Himiya Senagat” – member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan – in the coastal region, in the Okarem region, is building the production buildings of the new enterprise, which will use the appropriate method of producing elemental iodine.

After the extraction of iodine, the reclaimed water will be contained in ponds, where it is supposed to extract other chemical elements from it.

Also, this reclaimed water can be used for injection into oil reservoirs to maintain reservoir pressure, the electronic newspaper “Turkmenistan: Golden age” reports.
