On March 14-15, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosts the first meeting of authorized representatives of the Caspian countries to discuss and agree on the draft “Agreement between the Governments of the Caspian states on cooperation in the field of scientific research in the Caspian Sea”.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Enterprise for the Caspian Sea under the President of Turkmenistan. Experts from Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan take part in it.
The draft of this agreement is aimed at strengthening and developing the legal structure of cooperation in the areas of conducting various scientific-based work in the Caspian, monitoring and preventing natural and man-made incidents.
The development of partnership in this direction has a special priority in the comprehensive cooperation of Turkmenistan with the littoral states on a long-term basis.
