The exposition of the SC “Turkmengas” acquaints the world community with the main directions of the energy policy of the country

On February 10, the International Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition PetroTech-2019, organized by India’s leading oil and natural gas company, ONGC, the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI), with the official support of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources, began its work in the capital of India. To participate in the forum on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, a delegation of our country arrived in New Delhi.

PetroTech-2019 is the largest event in the field of oil and gas and petrochemical industry, which is held every two years and is focused on the development of oil and gas business in Southeast Asia. More than 7,000 delegates representing more than 800 companies from almost 60 countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, China, Singapore, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, etc., are taking part in the current forum, held at the India Expo Center & Mart. .

For Turkmenistan, which has huge reserves of natural resources, participation in such a representative forum as PetroTech is especially relevant today. Our country is actively integrating into the global energy space, consistently forming a multi-vector gas transmission system that allows diversifying the export of Turkmen energy carriers and is interested in the Indian market, where the demand for natural gas is very high.

The exposition, designed by the State Concern “Turkmengas”, introduces the world community to the main directions of the energy policy of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan, widely demonstrates the achievements and prospects of development of the domestic fuel and energy complex, major investment projects implemented in our country's oil and gas industry.

It should be noted that the exposition of our country from the first minutes of the opening of the show enjoys great attention of the participants of PetroTech-2019. The increased attention of exhibitors and visitors from different countries was caused by the construction project of the transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI), which is of particular importance from an economic point of view for neighboring and other states of the region. It is on the border of India, where the current forum is being held, that the construction of this important facility will be completed, which will contribute to solving social and humanitarian issues, strengthening peace and stability.

The participants of the forum held under the motto “Formation of a new energy world through innovation and cooperation”, aroused great interest in the products of the polymer plant in Kiyanly, which was recently commissioned. This major investment project worth more than $ 3 billion 400 million has been implemented by the SC “Turkmengas” together with Korean companies LG International Corporation, Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd and Japanese company TOYO Engineering Corporation. The production capacity of the new gas-chemical complex is designed to process 5 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year. This industrial giant will annually produce 386 thousand tons of high-quality polyethylene and 81 thousand tons of polypropylene.

It was noted at the forum that in recent years, the oil and gas complex of our country, under the leadership of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, has done a great deal of work in the extraction, processing, stable and reliable supply of energy resources to consumers. Projects for the development of the giant Galkynysh gas field, a unique polymer plant in Kiyanly, a gasoline production plant from natural gas that is being built in the Ahal velayat, were also noted.

Also, new projects that are planned to be implemented by the Turkmengas State Concern aroused great interest. Among them are the Gas Chemical Complex for the Production of Rubber and Polystyrene in Seydi, Lebap region, the Gas Chemical Complex for the Production of Methyl Diethanolamine and the Gas Chemical Complex for the Production of Polymers in Kiyanly, Balkan region, the Gas Chemical Plant for the Production of Polyvinyl Acetate in Yylanly, Dashoguz region.

Already today, it is safe to say that PetroTech-2019 will create ample opportunities for discussing topical issues in the oil and gas sector and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with leading companies in the world.

The international oil and gas exhibition and conference PetroTech-2019 will complete their work on February 12.
