The development of the road map of Turkmenistan on solar energy has become the focus of the round table discussion organized in the capital of Turkmenistan with the support of the OSCE. This was reported on the website of the foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.
The discussion was attended by representatives of the Ministry of energy, the Ministry of Finance and economy, the state Committee for environmental protection and land resources of Turkmenistan, the Institute of solar energy of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, teachers of the state energy Institute of Turkmenistan in Mary, as well as representatives of other competent agencies and public organizations engaged in environmental protection.
The event, organized by the OSCE centre in Ashgabat in cooperation with the state energy Institute of Turkmenistan, aimed to discuss the draft roadmap on solar energy and to consider ideas for its further development.
"Our round table discussion is an important step towards deepening the national dialogue and inter - Agency cooperation in the field of renewable energy," said Natalia Drozd, head of the OSCE centre in Ashgabat. "In light of the fact that national authorities have led the process of developing the road map, the OSCE Centre is ready to assist in the exchange of best practices and experiences of OSCE participating States, as well as to provide any other support within its mandate."
During the discussion, national experts presented a brief overview of the development of renewable energy in Turkmenistan and discussed the draft roadmap in terms of state priorities.
The OSCE centre in Ashgabat plans to provide further support in this area. Special attention will be paid to the preparation of the final version of the roadmap and strengthening the dialogue with other participating States of the OSCE to international technology and best practices for public-private partnership in the implementation of projects in the field of alternative energy.
