Ashgabat and Bucharest activate trade-economic cooperation

Monday in the seventh Ashgabat held a meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Romanian commission on economic and scientific and technical cooperation. This was reported on the website of the foreign ministry of Turkmenistan.

In the work of the commission participated leaders and representatives of the leading ministries and branch offices two states. A co-chair of the commission with Romanian side is the minister of the business environment, trade and entrepreneurship of  Romania Stefan Radu Oprea.

In the course of negotiations were considered questions development mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation. In this regard, hand held analysis of possibilities of trade and stressed the need to increase the export and import between the two countries.

Also, the parties discussed priority areas of cooperation in the field of energy, oil and gas, transport, agriculture, light industry and high technology. In particular, as noted news agency Media of Turkmen ORIENT, Romanian side showed interest in the acquisition of products Turkmen gas chemical industry and the establishment of the relations between the second at the significance port on the Black sea — Constanta — and the largest in the Caspian sea Turkmenbashinskim international port, which is preparing for the opening May 2.

Side also expressed intentions in the development cooperation in the field of science, culture, education and tourism.

The results of the meeting Turkmen-Romanian commission signed protocol and determined priority areas of cooperation on the upcoming period.

The same day Romanian delegation held talks in foreign ministry of Turkmenistan, during which discussed questions the current status and prospects extensions bilateral trade and economic cooperation. Were considered the possibility activation of joint turnover and stressed the need to increase export and import between countries. In this context, the parties particularly stressed the role of transport corridors. Noting developed logistics infrastructure the two countries, the parties discussed the possibility International maritime port in the Turkmenbashi in ensuring multimodal transport.

The private owners of the meeting also considered the activities of the Romanian companies in Turkmenistan and expressed interest in the creation of a joint economic projects.

Among the directions to further increase cooperation was marked the scope of energy and oil technologies.
