The security of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project is among the priorities on the working agenda of the Afghan Ministry of the interior.
To protect the future of the pipeline thousands of security forces were deployed, according to Afghan Agency TOLO News, citing the official representative of the law enforcement agency Nusrat Rahimi.
Recall that recently the UN Security Council adopted a Resolution extending the term of office of facilitation for Afghanistan, which expressed support for the Turkmenistan-initiated transport and energy projects including the TAPI project. In addition, the Security Council called on all interested parties to make efforts to create a safe environment for the implementation of these initiatives.
Over the first ten years, Afghanistan will receive 500 million cubic meters of Turkmen "blue fuel" each year through the future pipeline, followed by an increase in supplies.
