The delegation of Turkmenistan will participate in the first summit of heads of states of Central Asia, which will be held in March this year in the capital of Kazakhstan. This was stated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the government meeting held last Friday, which summed up the results of social and economic development of Turkmenistan in January-February 2018.
The President, in particular, said that according to the agreements reached earlier, a Turkmen delegation would be sent to the first summit of the heads of states of Central Asia, which was to be held in March in Astana.
It is noteworthy that this will be the first meeting of the leaders of Central Asia within the framework of the formal summit. Before that, the heads of the five States of the region met informally: in a bilateral, trilateral format, or within the framework of forums of various international structures and organizations, including the CIS, SCO, EAEC, etc.
