The delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan during a working visit to Pakistan on the 15-16 of January will hold consultations with the Foreign Ministry of this country. About the preparation of the meeting was reported by the vice-chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov at the government meeting last Friday.
As it was noted, at the meeting issues of further development of interstate relations, priority areas of bilateral cooperation will be discussed.
Special attention will be paid to the implementation of the gas pipeline project Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) and other important joint projects, particularly in the electricity and communication sector, and the transport-communication sector.
In the framework of the working visit holding of a number of bilateral meetings is planned.
As the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted at the government meeting, the constructive nature of the Turkmen-Pakistani dialogue allowed the two countries not only to successfully implement the plans of interaction, but also to go to new topical areas, drawing on capabilities in various areas, including trade, economic and energy sphere, transport and communication sector.
Emphasizing the importance of the TAPI gas pipeline project realizing jointly with other partner countries, the President noted that its implementation would contribute to the deepening and intensification of economic relations not only in regional but also in a broader dimension.
Speaking of this, the head of the state gave to the vice-chairman, the head of MFA a number of relevant instructions on further development of Turkmen-Pakistani relations.
Recall, that in the second half of February 2018 a series of celebrations which will be attended by the Presidents of Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India are planned. These include the groundbreaking ceremony for the Afghan part of the TAPI gas pipeline, fiber optic communication lines on the same route, the transmission line of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan, as well as the commissioning of the railway Serhetabat (Turkmenistan) - Turgundi (Afghanistan).
