Kazakhstan plans to construct the LNG plant for further gas export through Azerbaijan

Kazakhstan considers the possibility of a construction of the plant on liquefaction of natural gas for the purpose of its subsequent transportation through the territory of Azerbaijan. The Minister of Energy of this country Kanat Bozumbayev reported about it on a briefing following the results of a meeting of the Azerbaijani-Kazakhstan bilateral intergovernmental commission on a trade and economic cooperation.

"Gas production grows in Kazakhstan every year. This year more than 50 billion cubic meters of gas will be extracted. As one of options we consider a construction of the LNG plant with the subsequent transfer of amounts of gas through the Caspian Sea and further export through Azerbaijan", - TASS quotes Bozumbayev.

According to him, for study of these questions the joint working group has been created.
