In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rasheed Meredov with the vice-chairman of the Commission on planning of Pakistan with the status of the federal minister Mr. Sartadzhem Aziz took place, it is reported on the website of Foreign Ministry of our country.
Having noted active foreign policy partnership between Turkmenistan and Pakistan, the parties discussed the course of implementation of the reached top-level agreements.
Also issues of further development of the bilateral relations in fuel and energy and transport and communication areas were discussed.
During the conversation the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan expressed commitment to further development of effective multilateral interaction within the international organizations, including the UN, OIC and ECO.
During the meeting questions of a current status of the relations were considered and also exchange of opinions according to the international agenda took place. The federal minister of Pakistan noted efficiency of policy of neutrality of Turkmenistan which played an important role in providing the peace and stability in the region.
In this context the parties stated offers on consolidation of activities in energy, transport and economic spheres, directed to implementation of economic opportunities of the countries of the Asian region, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.
It is known that now Turkmenistan and Pakistan expand a cooperation in fuel and energy complex. In particular, the Pakistani company "Inter State Gas Systems (Private) Limited" is a private trader of the "TAPI Pipeline Company Limited" international consortium on a construction and operation of the gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI). The consortium also includes the State state concern "Turkmengas", the Afghan gas corporation and the Indian GAIL.
Since December, 2015 the State state concern "Turkmengas" independently conducts a construction of the Turkmen site of TAPI. Recently project participants said that in the near future works on a pipeline construction in the Afghan and Pakistani territories will begin. Also the possibility of a construction along the TAPI a line of the high-voltage power line for deliveries of the Turkmen electric power to Pakistan was discussed.
