The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin handed to the President of Turkmenistan the Order of Alexander Nevsky

Upon termination of the Turkmen-Russian top-level talks on October 2, in the Palace complex "Oguzkhan", with the assistance of members of official delegations of two countries the ceremony of rewarding of the head of Turkmenistan with a high state award of the Russian Federation — the Order of Alexander Nevsky — was held. 

Presenting this award, Vladimir Putin told: "Eminent political figures of foreign states are awarded with it for an outstanding personal contribution in strengthening of good-neighbourhood communications with Russia".

At the same time the Russian leader emphasized that the cooperation of Moscow and Ashgabat develops in many respects thanks to efforts of the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Having stated sincere gratitude to the Russian President Vladimir Putin for the honor, the head of Turkmenistan noted that he perceives this honorary reward as a sign of respect to all Turkmen people, a symbol of steady growth and every possible strengthening of traditionally friendly Turkmen-Russian relations. 

- We intend to do all necessary for comprehensive strengthening of interstate dialogue also from now on, are ready to make active all available solid potential of the Turkmen-Russian partnership, - the head of state told. 

Having emphasized that today Russia is a strategic partner of Turkmenistan, the cooperation of two countries dynamically develops in all directions, the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed belief that the existing high level of confidence and mutual understandings between our people will form a strong basis for further development of the Turkmen-Russian partnership further.
