In Ashgabat negotiations between Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Vladimir Putin began

At the central entrance of the Presidential Palace complex "Oguzkhan, the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov warmly and hospitably welcomed the Russian colleague Vladimir Putin.

Having shaken hands, leaders of two countries passed to the Oguzkhan hall where the official ceremony of the meeting of the distinguished guest was held.

After the official report of the commander of a company of Guard of honor, National anthems of the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan were performed. Heads of two states bypassed a system of soldiers of Guard of honor.

The President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov provided to the Russian colleague members of official delegation of Turkmenistan. The distinguished guest was also welcomed by heads of the diplomatic corps accredited in our country. In turn, the President Vladimir Putin provided to the head of Turkmenistan of members of government delegation of the Russian Federation.

After the traditional ceremony of official photography at the background of National flags of two countries the Turkmen leader invited the distinguished guest to pass to the "Altyn" hall where the Turkmen-Russian summit talks in a narrow format began.

Then negotiations will continue in expanded structure – with participation of official delegations of both countries, then the ceremony of signing of bilateral documents will be held.

Leaders of two countries will also address to representatives of mass media.

As the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at a cabinet meeting emphasized, "our country and Russia are united by old, primordially friendly relations. The Turkmen-Russian dialogue based on the principles of strategic partnership actively develops both in bilateral, and in multilateral formats, through the large international organizations".

The Russian Federation and Turkmenistan support constructive initiatives and the proposals each other made within the UN and other authoritative structures. Our countries showed proximity or coincidence of line items on such key global questions as ensuring the universal peace and safety, counteraction to challenges and threats of the present.


Relying on a mutual good political will of the parties, a long experience of interaction in trade and economic and humanitarian and cultural spheres, on historically developed bonds of friendship and neighborliness, today the Turkmen-Russian partnership finds new filling.
